5Good value
By KMW
The hood installed easily, gives off good light, does a good job, and looks nice. It's a good value for the price.

Caution: the instructions say not to touch the blade unit when installing, and they mean it. Pressing on the blade unit can easily cause enough warping to make it wobble and interfere with other parts when spinning. Sadly, my helper did that and I had to replace the blade unit. Once I did that, the fan behaved normally. The noise level (when you *haven't* warped the blade unit!) is very quiet on low, and not bad on high.

The design is better at pulling air from the back burners than from the front burners, which means if you want to vent smoke from a pan on a front burner, you will want to have the unit on high, not low.

3Manufacturer and product description are of 2 different models
By Mark
The manufacturer's description lists the this as both ducted and non-ducted. The QSE130SS is only ducted. Can not be used in a non-ducted situation.

Uses a centrally located axial type fan. The fan is centered above the stove cooking area providing good venting. Fit at the side panels has gaps.
