5Beautiful Range Hood- Heavy Gauge Stainless Steel- Very Important!
By Ritch Lawlor
This is heavy gauge stainless steel which is very important when you're dealing with steam/moisture. Other cheaper brands don't list the gauge of stainless offered so be weary- it would completely suck to have to reinstall a hood range after a year or two because of rust!

This is a heavy duty hood- the fan suction is great! On level 6 it is very strong! My only copmplaint is there is no dimmer for the halogen lights. I'm fine with the lights at the back of the hood as they are bright and shed plenty of light on the range top. We installed our hood about 28" above the range so the lighting is perfect. I would prefer the ability to dim the lights though for subtle lighting in the evenings.

The directions were a bit tough to follow- but you need to follow them in the order they state! VERY IMPORTANT- we were doing a complete remodel so I looked at the directions online before we received the unit to see where on the wall we needed extra support. Our wal ls were open (no drywall yet) so we could install an extra 2x4 for support. The directions show the mounting bracket is at the very top of the unit- FALSE that bracket essentially only supports the upper area of the venting (maybe 5-8lbs) The main support is right behind where the vent stack meets the hood. I wasn't a happy camper when we figured this out (our walls were all closed up and painted) so we ended up using the drywall anchors that came with the unit. I'm a little nervous about the bulk of the weight only being supported by drywall and drywall anchors- time will tell.

Other than that- the hood is awesome, packed extremely well too!
