5Sleek and quite
By Alfred Harding
We have a microwave mounted above our cooktop and we needed an alternative method to vent out while cooking. We liked this unit, more so than others because it offered multiple venting options to the outside. It can vent straight out the back, from below the unit, or on the left or right side of the unit. We thought we were going to vent out the back but once we installed it, it worked out better to vent out from below. By having more options, we didn't have to send it back and order another brand when we changed the installation.

The vent is very quite, (you hear it but it's not as noisy as I thought it would be) and has an adjustable dial that allows you to increase or decrease the suction.

It is installed in a standard counter top depth with a 36" cooktop. Mounting wise, it's about a 1/2" out from the back edge of the countertop, leaving about 1/4" after installing the tile backsplash. The cooktop is then butted up against the vent and there is a couple of inches in front of the cooktop to the front edge of the countertop.

The installer wasn't sure if it would all fit but I had measured and drawn out the pieces and I felt comfortable that it would. It did.
